Chole Tacos
Chick peas-fresh or canned (If fresh chick peas, soak overnight in water and cook in pressure cooker for 2-3 whistles).
Onions
Tomatoes
Garlic
Salt
Turmeric
Red Chili pepper
Lemon juice or lime juice
Cilantro
Ketchup (1 or 2 squirts)
Salsa
Lettuce
Mexican Cheese
Jalapeños (optional)
Oil (olive or canola)
Taco Shells (Flat Bottom are best)

1. Sauté onion in oil, once slightly browned add garlic.
2. Add chick peas, salt, turmeric chili pepper, lemon juice, and ketchup.
3. Cook for about 10 minutes
4. Toast tacos so crunchy
5. Stuff tacos with chick pea mixture, lettuce salsa, Mexican cheese, and jalapeños.
AlAternatively, you can crush tacos and mix all ingredients to make a taco salad.

DeleteVaishali D. had a great tip for these- mash up the chick peas a little so they don't roll off the taco. Good idea!
