Homemade Pizza Dough

For 1 pie (about 10 inches):

INGREDIENTS:
1 cereal bowl flour (about 1 ½ cups). For a healthier recipe, substitute ½ wheat flour, and ½ white flour
1 tablespoon oil (olive is best, but canola is ok too)
1 teaspoon yeast
¾ cup warm water
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon sugar- OPTIONAL
½ teaspoon garlic powder (finely chopped fresh garlic works as well)- OPTIONAL
½ - 1 teaspoon cumin- OPTIONAL
½ -1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes- OPTIONAL
Additional oil and flour to use as needed when kneading dough and making pie crust.

METHOD:
1. Add yeast to warm water and mix until yeast is dissolved.
2. In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, salt, sugar, garlic powder, cumin, crushed red pepper flakes and mix through.
3. Add Yeast mixture slowly to the dry ingredients and form a dough (it will be sticky).
4. Once the dough comes together, sprinkle 1-2 Tbsp of All-purpose flour and knead the dough until a soft ball forms.
5. Coat the dough ball with Olive Oil, cover and keep in a warm place for 1 hour to rise (An oven heated to 180 F/ 82 C and turned off is perfect).
6. Lightly Oil fingers and punch down the dough. Form it into a ball again, cover and replace in the oven for 1 more hour to rise.
7. Pre-heat oven to 350F.
8. Sprinkle all-purpose flour and start to knead the dough for 4-5 minutes. Keep sprinkling dry flour as needed when the dough becomes sticky.
9. Oil pizza tray (preferably one with tiny holes) and sprinkle some flour.
10. Roll out dough with hands. Keep sprinkling flour or oil as needed.
11. Bake about 5 minutes (until crust is light golden or mostly cooked through).
12. Remove from oven and spread with pizza sauce, cheese and your choice of toppings.
13. Bake until cheese is melted and light golden.
